Anna Marie Howell

Anna Marie Howell, age 79, died Sunday, May 8, 2022, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. She was born on July 13, 1942, to Milton “Mutt” Allen and Anna May (Marsh) Allen in Great Bend, Kansas. Anna graduated high school from Meade, Kansas before she married James “Dickie” Howell in 1959. She was a housewife and mother to her three children, son, James “Jimmy” R. Howell II and two daughters, Valencia and Deanna. Anna was a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed making pottery, ceramics, and playing cards with her friends at the ceramic shop in Liberal, interior design, fishing. Anna loved watching Survivor, going to garage sales, and attending auctions. She was a wonderful host at the annual Halloween Party. She is survived by Her mother, Anna May Allen Husband, James “Dickie” Howell of Liberal, Kansas Son, James “Jimmy” R. Howell II and companion, Geraldine of Henderson, Nevada Daughters, Valencia Hernandez of Halstead, Kansas, and Deanna “DeDe” Howell of Wichita, Kansas Three grandchildren, Kera Snyder and husband, Dustin of Olathe, Kansas, Adreanne Hernandez of Liberal, Kansas, and Anthony Hernandez of Merriam, Kansas, Brothers, Chuck Allen of Highlandville, Missouri and Dwayne Allen of Tiptonville, Tennessee Sister-In- Law, Laverta Delong of Meade, Kansas, eight great grandchildren, and Many nieces and nephews Anna is preceded in death by Her father, Milton “Mutt” Allen and Brother, Marvin Allen Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Sunday, May 15, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home. The family will be present to receive friends. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, May 16, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Kevin Alexander presiding. Interment to follow at Liberal Cemetery.
