Norman Richard McVey, 77, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was born June 27, 1944, in Liberal, Kansas to John and Florence McVey. Norman married Bonnie Lock on August 15, 1970 and had 3 children. Norman graduated from Kismet High School and then attended Hays University. After his time in college, he entered the Army, were he proudly served 4 years. Norman worked as a farmer and cattleman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Liberal, Kansas. He loved fishing and being around his family. Norman is survived by his wife Bonnie McVey, son, Richard (Sue) McVey, Daughter, Rachelle (Joey) Sharp, Brother, Bob (Janice) McVey, Sisters, Joyce Buck, Carolyn (Ace) Overton. Grandchildren, Renee, Cody, Brett, Alexandra, Vaughan, Whitley. Greatgrandchildren, Axel, Ruth, Emersyn, Adalynn. He is preceded in death by his Parents, John and Florence McVey, Sister, Sharron Massoni: Daughter, Marie Renee McVey. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 2, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hornung Family Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present to receive friends. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 3rd at 10:00 AM at the Hornung Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Graveside to follow at Kismet Cemetery.
