Abundio Sandoval, age 74, died Saturday, October 7, 2023, at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on September 30, 1949, the son of Manuel Sandoval and Ana Maria Huerta in Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico.
Abundio worked as a laborer for National Beef and Seaboard for many years.
He is survived by his brothers Jose Sandoval and his wife, Martina of Liberal, Kansas, and Manuel Sandoval and his wife, Clara of Guymon, Oklahoma, sisters Socorro Lozoyo and her husband Hermilo, Bertha Sandoval of Liberal, Kansas and Graciela Martinez and her husband, Lolo of Guymon, Oklahoma.
Abundio was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel and Ana Maria Sandoval, brothers, Raul Sandoval, Jose De Jesus Pulido, and daughter, Maria Elena Sandoval.
Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
A rosary will follow at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM, on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas with Father Charles Seiwert presiding.
A burial to follow at the Liberal Cemetery.

El velorio será de 9:00 a. m. a 5:00 p. m. el miércoles 11 de octubre de 2023 en Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
Seguirá un rosario a las 7:00 p. m. el miércoles 11 de octubre de 2023 en la iglesia católica St. Anthony of Padua, 1510 N. Calhoun, Liberal, Kansas.
