Alan M. Cole

Alan Merle Cole, 58, died January 8, 2014 at his home in Liberal, KS. He was born February 19, 1955 at Liberal, the son of Forrest and Billie Jean (Sloan) Cole. Alan was a lifelong resident of Liberal. He was a custodian at Wal-mart. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1973-1977 on active duty during peacetime.Survivors included: Companion- Cindi Martin, Liberal; Mother- Billie Jean Wriston and husband Eldon, Liberal; 2 Sons- Tyler Cole and wife Diana, Hutchinson, KS; Bradley Cole, Hutchinson, KS; 3 Daughters- Jacque Shepherd and husband John, Great Bend, KS; Rebecca Cole, Trinidad, CO; Pamela Cole, Trinidad, CO; 2 Step-Sons – Timothy Martin, Liberal; Chance Martin, Liberal; 2 Brothers- Gary Cole, Olathe, KS; Dale Cole, Liberal; 1 Sister- Patti (Cole) Sullivan, Sebastian, FL; 14– Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his Father and 1 Brother, David Cole. Memorial Service will be 10:00 am Friday, January 17th at New Beginnings Church, 2021 N. Western Ave, Liberal, KS with Rev. Jim Sullivan presiding. Internment will follow at Restlawn Cemetery, Liberal.There will be no public visitation, as cremation has taken place.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alan Cole Memorial Fund, in care of Brenneman Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd, Liberal, KS 67901.
