Donetta S. Dreitz, age 76, of Rogers, Arkansas passed away on Thursday morning, August 21, 2025, at Northwest Hospital in Bentonville, Arkansas.
She was born on November 12th, 1948, in Liberal, Kansas to Harold Lambert and Mary Evelyn (Langacher) Lambert. She grew up on her family’s farm near Kismet, Kansas with her two siblings. She attended elementary and 3 years of high school in Kismet schools. Her senior year she attended Southwestern Heights High school where she graduated in the class of 1966. Donetta also attended Fort Hays University.
After college, Donetta then went on to meet the love of her life Joe Dreitz, Jr. They later went on to marry on December 6, 1975. They would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. She was a full-time farm wife for many years, and she enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family. In 1984, she went to work at Dekalb where she worked for 15 years. She then went on to work as an assistant in the registrar office of Seward County Community College. She returned to school at Friends University where she maintained a 4.0 GPA and earned her bachelor's degree. She later became the college registrar where she worked until retirement.
Donetta was a lifelong member of the Calvary Mennonite Church before moving to Rogers, Arkansas with her husband in 2013. There she met many new lifelong friends and enjoyed sharing her many baked goods and candies.
She is survived by her devoted husband Joe; her son, Jeremy Dreitz (Kerri) of Liberal, Kansas; her daughter, Lana Dreitz, Rogers, Arkansas; and her beloved granddaughter, Jaden Toto (Noah); Step-grandchildren, Kirsten Ross, William (Bo) Ross and Hunter Huskey; Step-great-grandchildren, Knox and Blaze Peralta. Her surviving siblings include her sister, Carolyn Kay Arrowsmith (Howard) and her brother, Larry Joe Lambert (Anna Marie). She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt, June Langacher and 1 step-great-grandson Jaxon Peralta.
A memorial service to honor Donetta will be held on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 10:00 am Rollins Funeral Home 1401 Hudson Road Rogers, Arkansas.
Her viewing will be held in Liberal, Kansas at Hornung Funeral Home 1212 W 2nd St on Wednesday August 27, 2025, from 4 - 8pm.
Her funeral service will be held at Calvary Mennonite Church 831 S. New York Liberal, Kansas on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 11 am with burial at Kismet Cemetery to follow.
