Ernest Wayne Kinney

Ernest Kinney, age 76, died July 12, 2011 at the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, OK.He was born on August 13, 1934, at Beaver, OK, the son of Roy Lee and Bessie (Mealer) Kinney.He attended school at Turpin, OK.He worked for Yellow Freight for 34 years, as a long haul driver, until his retirement in 2006, getting transferred to Oklahoma City in 1993. Ernest Acquired 4 million safe miles without an accident.He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 thru 1957 & served in the Army Reserves until 1961. He was also a farmer in Beaver County. On January 15, 1955 he married Esther Roth in Liberal, KS. She survives.Other survivors include:1 Daughter Connie Bennett and husband Jerry of Liberal, KS;1 Son Michael Kinney of Wichita, KS. 2 Grandsons Kelly Foster and wife Sandy of Des Moines, IA,; Jeffrey Kinney of Wichita, KS.1 Granddaughter Annie Kinney of Wichita, KS. 2 Great Grandsons: Sawyer Foster and Jesse Kinney. 1 Sister: Ora Kinney of Oklahoma City, OK.3 Nieces and 1 NephewFuneral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W. 2nd., Liberal, KS, with Pastor Wyatt Carpenter presiding, burial will be in Liberal Cemetery. Military Honor will be presented by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 9 – 8 pm Friday with the family to receive friends from 6—8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers.
