Florence Ann Dodson

Florence Ann Dodson, age 79, died on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

She was born on February 26, 1946, in Beaver County, Oklahoma, to Floyd and Goldie (Mead) Shephard. Florence was the 9th child of 10 born.

Florence completed the 10th grade. On November 26, 1961, she was united in marriage to Delbert Wayne Dodson in Beaver, Oklahoma. Delbert preceded her in death on November 6, 2024, they were married 20 days shy of 63 years. They had their first and only child, Cheri, on July 18, 1962. The family moved to Washington in 1964, returning to Oklahoma in 1981

For 25 years Florence ran the well-respected Knowles Country Store where she was most famous for her homemade sausage burritos, chili and burgers.

She had a very active life of cooking, sewing, quilting and mowing her yard. She also enjoyed puzzles and computer games. Florence was much loved by all her family and friends, and her memory will live on.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Kenneth Gene Shelton, Jr. of Liberal, Kansas, and

Two grandchildren, Brittany Shelton, and Carley Smith and her husband, Dalton,

Two great grandchildren, Jolynn Smith, and Daxton Smith, two step grandchildren, Shandi Ross, and Christina Rosendahl, Two sisters, Clara Lemmons of Kelso, Washington, and Joyce Nansel of Wichita, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Delbert Wayne Dodson,

Parents, Floyd and Goldie Shephard, Daughter, Cheri Shelton,

Brothers, Bill, Jimmy and Chet,

Sisters, Mary and Frances.

Memorial Gathering will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Knowles City Hall, in Knowles, Oklahoma.

A burial will follow at Knowles Cemetery in Knowles, Oklahoma.
