J C “Uncle Tuck” Tucker, Jr., age 74, died Friday June 24, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal.He was born August 5, 1936 at Cameron, TX, the son of J C and Beatrice (Wesley) Tucker.He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1959 – 1961, during the Viet Nam War. He had worked for many years as a cook at the Liberal Inn and had worked for Rosel Energy.On September 26, 2007, he married Amy Kay Betts at Liberal, KS. She survives.Other survivors include:Sons: Jason A. Tucker Liberal, KS Jas’Loyn D. Tucker Liberal, KSDaughters: Velma J. Williams Liberal, KS Sue Ann Bailey Liberal, KSSisters: Pearlie Mae West Liberal, KS Evelynn Davis Liberal, KS8 Grandchildren: LaQuisha Williams, Adrian Williams, Kedryck Williams, Tyeron Williams, Kyra Flenoid, Shelby Flenoid,Jamari M. Tucker and Saniyah Tucker. 7 Great-GrandchildrenAnd many Nephews and Nieces He was preceded in death by his Parents, 1 Brother-Calvin Tucker and 6 Sisters.Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Saturday, July 2nd at the First Southern Baptist Church at 7th and Western, Liberal, KS with Supt. Lawrence Johnson presiding. Burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery with military honors by Ft. Riley Honor Guard.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Thursday and from 9 am – 8 pm Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home, Liberal, KS.
