Jeanette Sue Harp

Jeanette Sue Harp age 79, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at her residence in Liberal, Kansas.

Sue Harp, née Schroeder, was born on December 31, 1946, in Wichita, Kansas, to Theodore and Ilene Schroeder.

Sue was devoted to Brad Harp for over 30 years. One day she left a note asking Brad to marry her and by noon he had a marriage license waiting for her. They were united in marriage on September 2. 2019 in Liberal, Kansas.

Sue was a retired United States Post Office employee. Having retired in 2019 after years of service, she was finally able to stop running from mailbox to mailbox. Sue was absolutely a force to be reckoned with. She was very quick witted, and her laughter filled a room. God truly gave her an extra dose of sass.

Sue loved her family and friends from the bottom of her heart and even though she will be missed here, we are very glad she is whole and well once again. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her three sons, Sam Darroch and his wife Sandra of Garden City, Kansas, Damon Darroch and his wife, Melissa of Iron City, Tennessee, and Danny Darroch of Boston, Massachusetts. One brother, Jeff Schroeder.

Four sisters, Nita Maley, Donna Schroeder, Barbara Carey, and Terry Hattan,

Nine grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Ilene Schroeder,

Brother, Mike Schroeder, and sister, Marlene Warta.

Her memory will live on through the family she leaves behind and the many lives she touched. A Celebration of Life will be set at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in memory of Sue to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd street, Liberal, Kansas.
