Jose Moreno Gomez

Jose Moreno Gomez, age 85, died Friday, April 14, 2023, at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born on October 12, 1937, in Salamanca, Mexico, to Amado Moreno and Maria Gomez. 

Jose was united in marriage to Eva Miranda. She preceded him in death in 2011. He was the loving and devoted father of ten children. Jose worked as a gardener, a position he loved and maintained for many years. Jose was a strong patriarch of his family and will be missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by

his sons, Jose Soledad, Idolfo, Vidal, Eduardo, Rafael, Israel, and Noe.

His daughters, Irma, and Analilia,

31 grandchildren, and 37 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva Miranda, and both parents, Amado Moreno and Maria Gomez, and his son, Gaspar.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, April 20, 2023, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home with his son, Eduardo presiding.

A burial will follow at the Liberal Cemetery.
