Joseph Anthony “Tony” Abeyta, Jr. entered into eternal life on February 24, 2026.

Tony was the son of Joseph Anthony “Tony” Abeyta Sr. and Dora Margaret Abeyta. Tony was born on May 7, 1982 in Liberal, Kansas.

Tony and Terese Alisha Abeyta were married on July 5, 2008 in Liberal, Kansas. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Jayna and Amiya. Tony loved his girls and would do anything and everything for them! Tony enjoyed being with his family and friends on vacation and camping. He was a fun and loving man.

He loved to rollerblade with his brother in law, Samuel Fernandez and all his friends. He also enjoyed one wheeling. Tony always enjoyed making people smile and laugh. He had the best laugh ever! If you knew Tony he was a sneaker head and could tell you anything and everything about shoes.

He was in wrestling from when he was 5 years old until he was 18 years old. He was in many sports throughout his life. He attended Liberal High School where he graduated in 2000. He went to Seward County Community College and received his Associate Degree of Science in Business and graduated on the deans list in 2004.

He worked for Jeff Mitchell at Southwest Glass and Door for 18 years as a glass installer and made his way up to residential sales manager. He was a member of the Liberal Chamber Ambassadors Club since March, 2023. He was also a member of the Liberal County Club. Tony was loved by his community.

Tony was a member of Cross Point Church (First Baptist Church) of Liberal, Kansas where he served as a greeter, youth leader and a friend. Tony gave his life to Christ in baptism on August 25, 2024. He showed the love of Christ to everyone he met and was proud to call this his church family.

Tony is survived by his parents, Joseph Anthony “Tony” Abeyta Sr. and Dora Margaret Abeyta; his wife, Terese Alisha Abeyta and their two beautiful daughters Janya Lynn Abeyta and Amiya Jade Abeyta, of Liberal, Kansas; and many other relatives and friends.

Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Cleofas Abeyta of Brighton, Colorado, and Joe A. and Rose L. Aragon of Brighton, Colorado, and his sister Stacey Lynn Abeyta of Liberal, Kansas, whom he loved dearly.

A Celebration of life will be held at the Seward County Activity Center, 810 Stadium Ave, in Liberal, Kansas on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 3 pm.
