Karl Broadfoot

Karl Darrell Broadfoot, 74, died Thurs. Nov. 11, 2010 at his residence in Liberal, KS.He was born Feb. 9, 1936 in Beaver County, OK, the son of Roy and Maggie Eunice (Durham) Broadfoot. He had attended Liberal High School and served in the National Guard.He owned and operated Broadfoot Backhoe since 1973 until his retirement. He had also worked at C. R. Anthonys, Graves Truckline, Yellow Freight and KDI.He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. He was a past member of the Liberal Jaycees, Five State Fair Board, Teamsters Union and the Elks Lodge. On Dec. 11, 1953, he married Madeline Pifer in Liberal, KS. She died Oct. 14, 2009. Broadfoot and wife Cindy Liberal, KS Robert Burkey and wife Nikki Liberal, KSDaughter: Karla Bartel and husband Audie Liberal, KSDaughter-in-Law: Jenni Broadfoot Wichita, KS3 Brothers: Danny Broadfoot of Beaver, OK Ronnie Broadfoot of Belleville, IL Troy Broadfoot of Broken Arrow, OK2 Sisters: Nancy Elliott of Perkins, OK Sandy Dayton of Great Bend, KSGrandchildren: Leanna Broadfoot, Ryan Broadfoot, Colton Bartel, Quinton Bartel, Tim Broadfoot, Tiffany Broadfoot, Kenny Broadfoot, Brooklyn Burkey , Jacob Burkey, Travis Curry, Shane Curry and Toni Jordan 2 Great-Grandchildren: Mason Smith and Landon Willams.Special Friends: Larry Cramer, Carl Davis, Bill Campbell, George Curry and Joe SherrettsPreceded in death by his Parents, a Son-Tony Broadfoot, a Brother- Bennie Broadfoot and 2 Sisters- Maybelle Mitchell and Margaret Ann Broadfoot.Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Nov 20th at the First Southern Baptist Church with Dr. Jack Jacob presiding. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6 – 8 pm Friday, Nov 19th at the First Southern Baptist Church located at 7th & Western Street in Liberal.In lieu of flowers and plants, the family wishes that memorials be made to the First Southern Baptist Church in care of Kitch-Brenneman Funeral Home 1212 W. 2nd Liberal, KS 67901.
