Kathy Savely-Boyd

E. Kathleen “Kathy” (Colvin) Savely Boyd, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at her daughters home in Yukon, Ok, after a courageously-fought, lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 71. She lived in the Balko, Beaver, and Turpin area until 1980; Liberal, Ks until 1982 at which time she moved to Tulsa, Ok; she moved to Yukon, Ok in 2012. Kathy was born to W.A. “Cobb” and Lorene (Slater) Colvin in Beaver, Ok. She grew up in the Balko community and graduated from Balko High School in 1959. She married Donnie Savely in 1959 at Beaver, Ok. To this union three children were born. They were later divorced. She married Lloyd Boyd in 1983 in Miami, Ok, he preceeded her in death on June 3, 1995. She worked for 37 years in the insurance industry, which included family-owned Colvin Insurance Agency in Beaver, Ok; GAB and C Dean Riney in Liberal and Leslie Insurance Agency in Tulsa, as a Personal Lines Agent. She then joined R&R Select Underwriters as a Junior Commercial Underwriter in Tulsa, Ok, prior to fulfilling her life-long dream of caring for the elderly at Tulsa Nursing Center. After retirement she took on the job of Property Manager at Pheasant Run Patio Homes until illness forced her to completely retire. Survivors: 2-sons Kevin Savely and wife Susan of Liberal Steven W. Savely and wife Belinda of Liberal 1-daughter Donita Granado and husband Paul of Yukon, Ok Step-daughter Tracy Brown and husband LaRay of Elmhurst, IL 6-grandchildren Jennifer Olson and husband Jeremy LCP Tyler Savely Shelby Savely Eric Granado Alex Granado Madison Brown Sister-in-law Janice Colvin Brother-in-law Jack Hornbuckle 3-nephews 1-niece A special companion for many years: “Peaches”, her Pekingese. As well as many other aunts, cousins, and a host of friends. She was preceeded in death by parents, husband Lloyd, 2-brothers: Dwayne & Dale Colvin, 1-sister: Alice Raynell Hornbuckle, and 1-grandson: Steven K.
