Kelly Headrick

Kelly Headrick went to be with the Lord on April 19. 2026 in Seward County North of Liberal, Kansas. He was born June 26,1962 in Liberal, Kansas to Ivan and Marylin Headrick. He graduated from Liberal High School in 1980, then attended Kansas State University.

Kelly’s love of farming brought him back home to the family farm where he farmed alongside his dad Ivan and brother David. Kelly had a passion for racing where he worked on racecars till all hours in the night with his best friend Gary and with Cody. In 1998, Kelly married Brenda Royse and together they raised Joshua and Josiah Royse. In 2000, they celebrated the birth of their daughter Brianna, the apple of Daddy’s eyes. As the family grew, they moved to Turpin, Oklahoma. In 2002, Zane, the life of the party, joined the family, daddy’s little fourth generation farmer. Kelly always had the time to help the kids - from fixing Josh and Josiah’s cars, tea parties with Brianna and building hot rods with Zane. He enjoyed being PAPA to 4 granddaughters. Kelly shared his love of going shooting in the fields, four wheeling in the dunes or around the farm and teaching the kids how to fix things and how to weld things out of metal. In 2019 Kelly returned to the family farm to be with his parents till they went to be with the Lord. In Kelly’s life, he made many lifelong friends, he was always ready to help anyone at the drop of the hat, especially if a plate of food was involved.

Kelly is survived by Joshua Royse and Fiancé Sydney of Malibu California; Josiah Royse and wife Theresa of Guymon, Oklahoma; Brianna Headrick, Zane Headrick and Fiancé Ansley, of Liberal, Kansas; granddaughters Rebecca, Rosanna, Miranda, and Johanna Royse (and soon his first grandson, Melvin Royse) of Guymon, Oklahoma; siblings Sheri Byrn and her husband, Max of Woodward, Oklahoma; David Headrick of Liberal, Kansas; Gary Headrick and his wife, Jennifer of Sublette, Kansas; John Headrick and his wife, Laura of Towanda, Kansas; Joan Glunt and her husband, Layne of Ottawa, Illinois. Along with many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Kelly was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Marylin Headrick and his granddaughter Bethany Royse.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, May 10, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The Family will be present to greet friends.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 11, 2026, at CrossPoint Church, 204 N. Sherman, Liberal, Kansas. Pastor Jonathan Zamora will be officiating.

A burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
