Kenneth E. Johnson

Kenneth E. Johnson, age 91, died Monday, July 25, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society in Liberal, Kansas. He was born on July 13, 1931, the son of Joseph Johnson and Elsie Arnett in Beaver, Oklahoma. Kenneth graduated from Liberal High School and went on to finish two years at Tennessee Tech. He married Ledora Ann Grider on January 6, 1952, in Raton, New Mexico. She preceded him in death on November 6, 2008. Kenneth was very intelligent and hard working. He worked as a draftsman for Panhandle Eastern for many years. He also was the owner of Johnson's Flowers in Liberal alongside his wife. Kenneth and his wife enjoyed golfing and traveling both in the United States and internationally. He loved flying and displaying his Stearman airplane for air shows. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. He will be remembered for his quick wit, one liners and storytelling for anyone that would listen. Survived by His four grandchildren, Kenton Holder (Tracy), Kevin Holder (DeLainy), Preston Johnson (Jandi), and Dustin Johnson (Johnette) Eleven great grandchildren, Addilyn, Evan, Alexis, Jackson, Braden, Cecilia, Maddex and Amelia Holder, Annie, Adrian, and Wren Johnson Preceded in death by Both his parents, Joseph Johnson and Elsie Arnett Son, David Earl Johnson Daughter Karla Diann Holder Five Brothers Wendell, Russell, Raymond, Howard and Floyd Johnson and Three Sisters Kathryn Woods and Ila Jean Bowen, Carolyn Burchfield. Visitation will be 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W. 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 1, 2022, at the First United Methodist Church, 116 W. 3rd St, Liberal, Kansas. Rev. Brad Bennett presiding.
