Leola Mildred Swan

Leola Mildred Swan, 103, died January 16, 2011 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal. She was born September 4, 1907 in No Man’s Land the daughter of Arthur and Amy (Nelson) Frank. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1926. She resided on a farm Southeast of Liberal for 68 years.On January 17, 1926 she married Warren Swan at Garden City, Ks. He died on October 8, 1989.She was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberal. Survivors include2 Daughters, Betty Jo Heitschmidt Liberal, KS Gaye Hershey and husband Jimmie Forgan, OK 7 Grandchildren, numerous Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Son James Swan, Grandson Randy Heitschmidt, Son-in-law Donald Heitschmidt, one Brother and two Sisters.Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Brenneman Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Lehnert presiding. Private family burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery. Visitation Time 9am to 8 pm Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
