Marilyn June Phillips

Marilyn June Phillips, Age 81, of Liberal, Kansas, died on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Southwest Medical Center. 

She was born in Beaver Oklahoma, on August 31, 1942, the daughter of Jack and Ann (Taylor) Matkin. She attended Liberal High School and was employed at Southwest Medical Center, where she worked in nursery.  She loved working with the babies.  

She enjoyed Bowling as a member of the Ladies Major’s Bowling League for many years. 

Marilyn is survived by;

Her daughters, Michelle Strong and her husband Sam of Optima, Oklahoma and Linda Ann Kirkwood of Liberal, Kansas. 

Her significant Other of 30 Years, Larry Hendrickson of Liberal.

 Her Sister Jacqueline Matkin-Harrison and husband Pat of Cape Coral, Florida. Her Great Aunt Billie June Smith of Pearcy, Arkansas.

She will be greatly missed by her Great Fur Baby, “Sugar”.

There will be a family gathering to receive condolences and greet them at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2^nd St, Liberal, Kansas. It will take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 6pm to 8pm.

The burial will take place at Liberal Cemetery on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 10am.

Memorial donations may be made to Optima Paw’s Station, in care of Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2^nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.
