Martha Alicia Smith

Martha Alicia Smith, age 73, died on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at her residence in Liberal, Kansas.

She was born on October 29, 1952, in Elsa, Texas to Ruben C. and Maria (De Los Angeles Ortiz) Longoria.

Martha was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She graduated from the Nursing Program at Seward County Community College in 1993 and dedicated her career to caring for others as an LPN. Martha’s gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and deep love for her family will be cherished always, and she will be forever remembered.

She is survived by her son, Israel Brown of Liberal, Kansas,

Three daughters, Snow Garrison and her husband, Chad of Ponderosa, Oklahoma,

Liberty Brown of Springfield, Missouri, and

Natashia Manzanres and her husband, Eric of Aurora, Colorado,

Daughter-in-law, Gage Brown of Rocky Ford, Colorado,

Brother, Jorge Longoria of Ft. Lupton, Colorado,

Sister, Mary Quince of Bellingham, Washington, and

11 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman C. Smith,

Parents, Ruben and Maria Longoria,

Son, Davy Junior Brown, and

Several brothers.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend James Deiker will be officiating.

A burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
