Phyllis Mae Finnen

May 28, 1924 — July 17, 2020

Phyllis Mae Finnen 96 passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 at Southwest Kansas Medical Center after a short illness.

Phyllis was born May 28, 1924 in Dayton Ohio the daughter of Alphonse Brockman and Mildred Schneider. She later moved to Denver Colorado and eventually came to Liberal Kansas where she taught art for Seward County Community College and the Liberal Senior Center. She enjoyed oil painting, reading, solving puzzles and interior decorating. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook big meals for family gatherings. She had two delightfully spoiled dogs Binky and Buster that ruled the roost! We enjoyed many Sunday afternoons in her kitchen preparing meals and later watching movies as she happily slept through each one.
She will be missed by many due to her outgoing personality and her infectious ability to make people laugh.

She is survived by her children: Gary Saunders of Rancho Viejo Tx, Katherine Jade Katz of Lawrence Kansas. She is survived by her grandchildren: Justin M Ramos-Doty of York Pennsylvania, Jamilin Lorenson of Ulysses Kansas, and Jaime Miguel Ramos of Eudora Kansas.
She also is survived by many great grandchildren.

Phyllis is proceeded in death by her loving husband James H. Finnen and her daughter Janene Ramsey.
There will be a private virtual gathering for family only and no other service at this time. Interment of her urn will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
