Rodney Livingston

Rodney Livingston, age 59, died on Sunday, October 26, 2025, in Maricopa, Arizona.

He was born on December 2, 1965 in Liberal, Kansas to Gilford and Ledal (Jones) Livingston.

Rodney attended school in Liberal, Kansas, and graduated from Liberal High School in 1984. Shortly after graduation, he began working at National Beef Packing Company. That same year, he met Heather Carlsgaard, and the two quickly became inseparable, beginning a lifelong journey together and raising their family with love and devotion.

In time, Rodney discovered his natural talent for electrical work. He went on to build a successful career with Davis Electric, Triple A Electric, and Joe Harvey Electric. In 2006, Rodney and Heather moved their family to Maricopa, Arizona, where he continued his work in electrical repair with Franklin Foods.

Family was everything to Rodney. He deeply loved his wife, Heather, their six children, and his grandchildren. One of his favorite traditions was making big Sunday breakfasts on his Blackstone Grill—something the whole family looked forward to. Cooking was one of his many gifts, and he took great joy in seeing his family gathered together, laughing and sharing a meal.

Rodney will be remembered most for his incredible sense of humor. He had a gift for making others laugh until it hurt and could turn even the most serious moments into something lighthearted. He was the person you didn’t dare sit next to during a serious meeting because he’d surely get you laughing. With a personality that could fill any room, Rodney brought joy and warmth wherever he went.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, mother, brothers, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Grandchildren, Nevaeh, Miguel, Rodney III, Liana, Kyliyah, Esmee, Jaylon, Omari all of Arizona.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Friday, November 7, 2025, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2025, at the Bibleway Church of God in Christ, 410 E. 8th Street, Liberal, Kansas, with Pastors Charles DeVorce and Tolbert Livingston presiding.

A burial will follow at Liberal Cemetery.
