Sherrie Harrison

Sherrie Mashell Harrison, age 65, of Liberal, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Sherrie was born on May 31, 1961, in Millington Tennessee Naval Base to Keith and Roberta Thomas. She grew up in Liberal, Kansas and graduated from Liberal High School in 1979. On March 8, 1980, she married Keith Conner. Together they had 3 daughters. On April 1, 1998, she married Martin “Sparky” Harrison and gained 2 more children.

Sherrie graduated barber school in Wichita, Kansas and worked as a barber, serving the communities of Hugoton, Elkhart, and Liberal for over 25 years. She then returned to school, obtaining her Associate’s Degree from Seward County Community College, her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Fort Hays State University, and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Newman University. As a non-traditional student, she became known as “Mama Sherrie” to many classmates who became beloved friends. As an avid reader, she had a love for learning and storytelling. As a Social Worker, she dedicated herself to helping others through therapy and hospice. She loved people and never met a stranger. Her greatest joy in life was being a wife, mother, sister, grammy, and friend.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Roberta Hartshorn, sister Debbie Reece, and nephew Brady Lawson.

She is survived by her husband, Martin “Sparky” Harrison of Liberal, Kansas, her father, Keith Thomas of Las Vegas, Nevada, and her children Kendall (Andy) Runnebaum of Manhattan, Kansas, Ragan (Michael) Parvaresh of Rockwall, Texas, Kenzie (Andy) Fankhauser of Rancho Santa Margarita, California, Kennedy (Dillon) Watson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Dalton (Cara) Harrison of Haltom City, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Deena Korting of Missoula, Montana, her brother Scott (Katherine) Gourley of Raton, New Mexico, her brother Clendon (Deana) Hartshorn of Flagler Beach, Florida, her sister, Jacqueline Burrows of Las Vegas, Nevada, brother Bobby (Christina) Hartshorn of Lockport, New York, eight grandchildren, eleven nieces and nephews, and numerous family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM – 2:00, Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas.

Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 25 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, Liberal, Kansas. Pastor Dalton Harrison will be presiding.
