Tiburseo Hernandez, age 78, died on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at his residence in Turpin, Oklahoma.
He was born on August 11, 1948, in Post, Texas, to Visente and Merjilda (Ranjel) Hernandez.
Tiburseo was united in marriage to Alicia Cimental on March 12, 1967, in Lubbock, Texas. Together, they built a loving family and raised five daughters. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He worked in farming throughout his life and took great pride in caring for and providing for his family. Tiburseo enjoyed spending time fishing, watching wrestling on TV, and restoring and working on cars. He loved music and brought joy to those around him with his playful sense of humor, always joking with family and friends. He will be missed by his loving family and all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Hernandez of Turpin, Oklahoma,
Five daughters, Nora Moore and her husband, Cory Gillespie of Turpin, Oklahoma,
Vicky Rodriguez and her husband, Martin of Mathis, Texas,
Julia Wishon of Scott City, Kansas,
Lisa Daniels and her husband, Jade of Missouri,
Cynthia Salinas and her husband, Joshua of Garden City, Kansas,
17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchildren,
Two sisters, Geneva Lopez and Lupe Lopez.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Visente and Merjilda Hernandez,
six brothers, and one sister.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at the Hornung Family Funeral Home Chapel, 1212 W 2nd Street, Liberal, Kansas. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Centro Cristano Church, 701 S. Pershing, Liberal, Kansas. Pastor John Wayne Valdivia will be presiding.
A burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery.
